Neo Bankside
Neo Bankside, the award winning, innovative new residential development by Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners is the location of this stunning apartment. Overlooking the Tate Modern the apartment features stunning river views from the South Bank across to St Paul’s Cathedral and the City of London
The young owners of the property wanted to reflect the sophisticated vibrancy of the surrounding area in their apartment. Following a consultation we provided a lighting design to help achieve this
The architect had designed a bespoke piece of furniture to lead through the hallway into the main living space. Made from hundreds of piano lacquered sheets of wood, the shelving supports the client’s collection of precious antiques. To reduce the apparent weight of the unit, we designed a lighting detail to run top and bottom creating the illusion of the unit floating. Twin downlights from Viabizzuno were then installed in the ceiling to provide accent lighting to each of the sculptures and onto artwork on the wall opposite
Above the breakfast bar, three concrete pendants from Foscarini’s Aplomb range provide a contrast against the highly polished granite top below. In the kitchen, plastered-in trimless down lights provide low-glare lighting onto the cupboard doors and work surfaces
On the balcony, a Big Bang pendant in acrylic reflects in the surrounding mirrored and glazed walls creating an illusion of being surrounded by lighting
